eCrib+ is the modern updated web version of the old eCribbage online game. Play live online against other players or against AI (bot opponent), hang out in themed lounges, earn rewards, customize your avatar, and join tournaments. It runs in your browser; so no app or software needed.

Yes — your eCribbage account carries over to eCrib+. Use the same username and password.

Three steps:

• Click the orange TUTORIAL button in the lounge for a guided tour.
• Click on your Player Tile, then click on Update Avatar
• Click on Customizations and choose your font color, and fill out your status, location, nickname and ACC # if a member

Now you are ready to start playing!!

Yes, free to play. Some cosmetic unlocks (avatar pieces, themed card backs, tables, titles) are earned by playing — see the Rewards grid inside the GOODIES popup.

eCrib+ will always be free to play, but we will have a PRO membership for those that want all the extra features, bells and whistles, etc. The new servers on the site will be very powerful so will be expensive — PRO memberships go towards that.

Yes — any remaining months you have on your current membership will transfer over to the new site.

The lounge is the lobby — it’s where you see who’s online, chat with everyone, and find or create games. Each lounge has its own theme (Castle, Tavern, Beach, Tournament Grounds, etc.) and its own crowd.

Click the ← Map button (top-left of the lounge) to go back to the lounge map, then pick another lounge to enter. Each lounge has its own background art and chat.

You can also use the lounge pills at the top of the lounge — each pill shows the live player count for one of the other lounges (and your current lounge is highlighted with a gold border). Hover any pill to peek at who's in there, and click it to jump straight over without going back to the map.

By clicking on a player’s name in the lounge you will open their Player’s Tile. From here you can view their stats, send them a PM, add or remove them as a friend, say Hi to them with a wave, or if they are sleeping, wake them up!

The little buttons next to the Players header toggle the player-list view:

• Full — avatars with player statuses.
• Cozy — two-column layout with avatars.
• Compact — tight grid, more players per screen.
• Auto — picks the right mode based on how many players are online (the default).

• Play — This is where you go to start all games.
• Tutorial — There are two tutorials available, one for the lounge and one for the games.
• Goodies — Your personal-settings panel. Inside you'll find sound effects toggle, private messages option, emergency contact, Rewards milestone grid, the Links menu, the What's New changelog, the Future Release Pipeline, and applications for Tournament Director or Helping Hands.
• The Hall — Comprehensive site-wide stats about everything eCrib+ — leaderboards, hand totals, big-hand counts, jokers, slams, and other career-long records across the whole community.
• Help Me — Go here to Report a Bug, a Player, Give a Suggestion or Ask a Question.
• Logout — This button is especially useful when playing your phone or tablet.

On phones, the lounge has Players and Tables tabs at the top — tap to alternate between the player list and the active tables grid. Desktop shows them side-by-side.

Open Goodies. There are 4 options to choose from, each option controlling different sections. Choose one, all or none to suit your preferences. The setting saves to your account, so it sticks across sessions and devices.

• Green — Ready to play
• Yellow — Watching a game
• Red — Busy or Playing a game
• White — Snoozing (zzz)ing

Click on GOODIES > Turn off Theme Goodies.

We still have the wall, but it has been renamed to The Scribes. You can find The Scribes at the top right of any lobby.

The Hall is eCrib+’s Hall of Fame. It is a detailed list of player’s stats broken down into different categories. This is where you will find the best of the best.

The Scribes is the message forum — the modern eCribbage Wall. Leave messages in different categories that everyone can see, including players who aren't online right now (they'll see your message when they next log in).

Click the green PLAY button in the lounge.

• Choose your Game: Located across the top (pay attention to the drop-down menu)
• Choose your Opponent:
  • Humans — challenge other townfolk online
  • AI — Choose between AI Easy, AI Medium, AI Hard and AI Expert or Practice Mode
• Choose your Pace: Regular or Speed.
• Choose whether to show peg cards.
• Choose whether you want to allow watchers.

Then click Play at the bottom of the dialog. If you pick Humans, your game shows up on the lounge tables for someone to join.

eCrib+ is known for all things Cribbage. This includes many ways to play the game we all love. Here is a list of the different variations we offer and how to play them.

• Toss 5’s — Toss 5’s is a fun but twisted version of cribbage where you HAVE to throw all your fives into the crib regardless of whether it is your crib or your opponent’s crib! This changes up the pegging and causes potentially high cribs that you can setup for yourself.
• Crash Cribbage — Crash is played exactly like traditional cribbage, what makes Crash different is the board it is played on. Crash Cribbage has a unique figure-8 design. All players start in the “start” holes and choose the direction they wish to peg. You may end up pegging the same direction or in the opposite direction of the other players. The real excitement starts when you bump into or “crash” another player's peg. If you hit your opponent's tail peg you will send it forward, if you hit your opponent's head peg you will send it backward. This greatly enhances the strategy involved in the pegging phase of the game.
• Back 10 — Back 10 Cribbage is a version of cribbage that penalizes you if you get 0 points in your crib or your hand. Instead of just getting 0 points, you will peg backwards 10 points for each 0 hand or crib. So, make sure to get points in BOTH your hand and crib!
• Lowball — In this game, you TRY to score the fewest points, stack your opponent’s crib, and try to avoid pegging points, whatever it takes to NOT be the first one to 121 points.
• +19 — In +19 you are rewarded with 19 bonus points for every 0 points in your crib or your hand. It’s up to you to decide if the reward is worth the gamble.
• Jokers — Jokers is played exactly like traditional cribbage, with the addition of 4 Jokers. Once you play a joker in the pegging, you must set its value right then and there. This allows you to decide if you want to use the joker to your advantage in the pegging or for scoring your hand.
  • A joker can be the same card as another card, ie if you have a 5 of spades, you can also use your joker as a 5 of spades. This allows for 5 of a kind hands (worth 20), and flushes with the same card.
  • If a joker is cut as the cut card, the player with the crib gets “His Nobs” points, and both players can use the cut card as whatever card they want.
  • You may throw a joker in the crib, and then you can use the joker for whatever card you want in the crib.
• Canadian Doubles — Canadian Doubles is played just like regular doubles, EXCEPT each turn you or your partner will be dealt 10 cards. Of those 10 cards you will keep 4 cards for yourself, give 4 cards to your partner and toss 2 cards to the crib. Choose carefully!!
• Switch Pards — This is played just like regular partners Cribbage except each round your partner changes. Partners and opponents are chosen by the computer at random and the time the tournament is seeded.

Avatars, cribbage boards, KC Trays etc. are totally customizable. On the bottom right click on the arrows to resize it (make it bigger or smaller). To move something, either click on the item or click on the star symbol on the bottom left to have it move position.

Absolutely. To adjust your cards, click on OPTIONS > CUSTOMIZE HAND. Three faded out circles will appear around your cards. Use the arrows on the right side to make your cards bigger/smaller or wider/narrower. Use the star symbol on the bottom left to have it move the position of the cards. When completed click on Finished Customizing for the circles to go away. Your settings will be saved.

Practice is a guided game — the bot pauses, gives hints, and explains scoring as you go. The option is best for learning. AI is a regular full-speed game vs the bot — no hints, and play is for real.

The Tables area shows games waiting for an opponent (and games already in progress that you can watch). Click a waiting table to send a join request — the host gets a popup to accept.

Yes — click an active (in-progress) table to watch. You'll see both hands face-down, the cribbage board, and the game chat. Hit ✕ Stop Watching at the top-left to leave.

Note: this only works if the players haven't marked the game as private. Private games are hidden from spectators.

Speed mode removes some of the animations, such as the shuffling and dealing of the cards to speed up the pace of the game. It is played the same as a regular game — just faster.

Yes. While a game is in progress, click ← Map to head back to the lounge — you'll see two extra buttons appear: ✓ Save Game (saves the game so you can resume later) and Back to Game → (jumps you straight back to the table)

If you leave the lounge, when you return you will see your saved games under Tables, click on the game and select Resume Game.

Auto Sort — With Auto Sort on, your hand stays sorted by rank. Note: Your opponent will always see you selecting the card farthest to the right in your hand, regardless of which card you actually choose. So there is no advantage for your opponent if you "Auto Sort" your hand.

No Spinning Cards — By default, cards do a small spin when they fly to the crib. No Spinning Cards turns off that animation.

Absolutely! While in a game, click on Options, from there select either Cards, Pegs, Table or Board.

Standard Boards — There are 6 board options to choose from.
Choosing None hides the cribbage board entirely (some players prefer a clean table view and just rely on the score box).
To move your board grab the small ✥ handle in the top-right corner of the board and drag it anywhere on the screen.

Custom Cards, Pegs, Tables and Boards — Select any unlocked table or card back and they update instantly.

Note: Custom Cards, Pegs, Tables and Boards are part of the Rewards system — you unlock them by playing games. Click Rewards in Goodies to preview every unlock and see how many games until the next one.

Note: You can also update your choices from the lounge by clicking GOODIES > GAME DÉCOR.

Yes — grab the chat header and drag it anywhere on the screen. On desktop you can also drag the right edge to resize it. On mobile, the corner grip resizes diagonally.

We are no longer doing ratings as we have in the past. You will now have your own personal set of stats based on your own merits — not on who you played and what their rating was at the time you played.

Click your own tile at the top of the players list to open your popover, then click Update Avatar. The avatar editor lets you pick a head, hair, eyes, mouth, outfit, and accessories — hundreds of combinations. Randomize rolls a fresh look. Save & Exit keeps your changes; Cancel backs out.

Click your tile → Customizations. You'll see a row of name-color swatches plus a More Colors… button that opens a full color picker so you can choose any color you want. Your chosen color is how your name shows in chat and on the player list.

Click your tile → Customizations. Fill in the ACC # field with your ACC membership number and save — the ACC badge will show with your name once it's in.

Each player has their own personal Bio Page. This page allows you to tell your fellow players a little about yourself. Fill in as much or as little information as you want. You can also upload a personal picture.

Remember to follow the TOS and keep it clean and family friendly. (Repeated abuse of this will result in losing access to your Bio Page.)

An optional name shown alongside (or instead of) your username. Set it under Customizations → Nickname. Useful if your username is something cryptic and you want a friendlier display name.

Usernames are fixed at signup, but your Nickname is editable any time — that's what most players use to set the name they're known by.

Titles are earned via Rewardssystem. As you play more games, more titles are awarded to you. You can change your title by going to Customization and selecting any unlocked ones.

All players receive a select number of "free" avatar pieces. The locked pieces can be unlocked through playing games. You earn your first Reward at 25 games. Visit the Goodies section and click on Rewards Milestones to see what will be awarded, when.

There are four ways to send a PM to a player online.

• Click on a Player's Tile to open it, click Send PM.
• Click on the Player's name in a Lounge Pill and click Send Private Message.
• Click on GOODIES > FRIENDS — Locate the friend you want to PM and click. From here you can choose to send a PM or leave an Offline Message.
• On your friend’s Player’s Tile you will see a little envelope, click on that envelope and a Private Message to that person will open.

NOTE: There are two options on how to receive your PMs - manual or automatic.

• Manual: When you receive a PM the message appears in the lobby chat with a link allowing you to reply.
• Automatic: Your PMs will automatically appear in a floating chat window on your screen.

Select your option by checking or unchecking the Auto-Open option under Goodies.

Special Features of PMs —

• Pop Out — Click on the double square and your PM message will Pop Out, this allows you to drag your message around your screen and to resize it.
• Add a Player — Click on the + sign and add another one of your friends to the chat.

Click a player's tile and click Wave. They'll see your wave instantly — a quick way to say hi without typing.

Click a player's tile and click Slap. They'll see your slap instantly — be careful, they may do it right back.

Yes — type gg, gl, wow and others to play audio clips in the game. Type <--- to draw an arrow, (dog) to draw a dog, plus (fire), (skull), (party), (bomb), (boom) and many more — they auto-render as emoji or images. The smiley button next to the chat input opens a full emoji selection.

In a game there is a Chat drop down with all the commonly used phrases, as well as some fun audios.

Yes — from a player's popover, hit Add Friend. Friends get a small thumbs up icon next to their name in the player list and you'll get a notification when they come online.

One extra perk: the profanity filter is relaxed in private messages when both players are friends of each other — chat freely with people you actually know.

Yes — from a player's tile, click on their Stats Page. On the left-hand side of the page under Friend Actions, you can Remove a Friend, or Block Player.

Yes! Click on GOODIES > Friends and see all your friends in one place. You can view their Bio, leave them an offline message, and soon you will be able to PM them.

No, our friends list from the old site did not transfer over. You will need to re-friend all of your friends again.

A dedicated lounge for active tournaments — see live brackets, register for upcoming events, and find your scheduled match.

• Brackets Tournaments: Best of 1 / 3 / 5 games
• Grass Roots Tournaments: 5 / 6 / 7 / 9 games

Partner’s tournaments are also offered in all these formats.

All Tournaments (Bracketed and GR) have timers. The timers are as follows:

• Discard Timer — 20 seconds for discard.
• Peg Timer — 10 seconds to play each card.

Every player gets 2 grace periods per game for each clock — discard graces are worth +10s, pegging graces +5s — before it will auto-play.

Once either score passes 90 the discard clock gains +5s and the peg clock +3s.

Your game will not start until your opponent is ready to play. They could still be playing a previous round, or they could be out of the lounge.

In Bracketed Tournaments use the bracket located on the right side of your screen to follow along.

In Grass Roots Tournaments you have two options:

• While looking at your scorecard, click on your opponent's name and it will bring up their scorecard. If they have an empty score above your name, then they are still playing and you have a wait.
• You can also use the PROGRESS chart to follow along. On the left side look down until you find your opponent’s name. Then slide across until you get to the highlighted name — that is who they are currently playing or waiting to play. If that is not your name, then you have a wait.

There are several ways to see what tournaments are coming up.

• Click on the yellow TOURNAMENT button and look under UPCOMING TOURNAMENTS. Be sure to click on see more upcoming tournaments under the list that is currently showing.
• On the daily News Flash (message that pops up every time you sign on) there is a box you can check to have an email sent to you any time a new tournament is added.
• When you sign on the next 3 or 4 tournaments on the schedule are shown.

Check ins open automatically 15 minutes before the start of the tournament, and close automatically on the hour or on the :30. If you are not checked in before they close, you will not be able to play.

Click on the yellow TOURNAMENT button, and click on Check In.

Check Ins open 15 minutes before the start of the tournament. If you sign up BEFORE check ins open, then you are “reserving your spot” in the tournament and will still need to check in when it opens. If you sign up AFTER check ins open, then you are checked in and ready to play.

Click on the yellow TOURNAMENT button. Find the correct tournament and click on CHECKED IN. If your name is listed then you are checked in and ready to play.

You will also see a green checkmark by your name in the lounge if you are checked in.

Grass Root tournaments can be 5/6/7 or 9 games. Check the Upcoming Tournaments for information on a specific tournament.

• Check ins open at 15 minutes till or 15 minutes after the hour.
• You will need to be checked in to play.

When the tournament closes, each player’s scorecard will appear on the right of your screen. If you do not see your scorecard then your screen is too big and you will need to adjust the size.

You will play each of the players listed, in order until you have completed your scorecard.

In GR tournaments the players themselves are responsible for starting their own tables, except for the first game which the TD will start.

• Green START button: This means your next game is ready to be played. Click on START and you and your opponent will be whisked away to your game. Upon completion of the game; return to the lobby and await your next match.
• Grey START button: This means your next game is NOT ready to be played. Your opponent is most likely still playing an earlier round, or they may have left the site. When they finish their games or return to the site, your gray button will turn green.

When you have completed all your games you are free to hang around to see how the tournament ends, or you are welcome to leave.

Button Descriptions:

• My Scorecard: Is a list of who you will be playing in this tournament. Your start buttons will appear on this card.
• Leaders: This is a list of all the players in the tournament and how they are currently ranked by scores.
• Progress: Is a detailed list of how everyone is progressing through the tournament. A name in yellow means that player is currently playing that match, or they are waiting to start that match. Once a match is completed that player will receive a checkmark for a win, or an X for a loss.
• Big Scorecard: This is a larger combined version of MY SCORECARD and LEADERS.

Pop Outs:

At the top of Progress and Big Scorecard you will see the words POP OUT. If you click on the words Pop Out you can resize and move it around your monitor or to another monitor.

Best of tournaments can be 1 or 3 games (specialty tournaments can be up to 5 or 7 games). Check the Upcoming Tournaments for information on a specific tournament.

• Check ins open at 15 minutes till or 15 minutes after the hour.
• You will need to be checked in to play.

When the tournament closes, the bracket will appear on the right of your screen. If you do not see the bracket, then your screen is too big, and you will need to adjust the size.

NOTE: The bracket is adjustable for the different rounds as well as a scroll bar so you can see the complete bracket.

The TD will start all matches, and you will automatically be whisked into your games. When you have finished your matches, return to the lobby.

If you win, you will be automatically advanced, and your next game will start as soon as you have an opponent.

If you lose, you are free to hang around to see how the tournament ends, or you are welcome to leave.

If you earn 50 Gold, 50 Silver, and 50 Bronze you will become a member of the “50 Club” and receive a bling for your Bling Box. They are 50, 100, 200, 300 up to 1000.

A blue SM shield (Site Manager) responsible for the running of the site.

A red TD shield (Tournament Director) fully trained Tournament Director able to host their own tournaments.

A green TD shield (Tournament Director) a Tournament Director in training.

Strikes are issued by eCrib+ Site Management for violations of the Terms of Service — disrespectful behaviour toward Site Staff or fellow players, inappropriate chat, and other conduct that hurts the site's family-friendly atmosphere.

✖︎ Yellow strike — a warning. It expires after 30 days. Collecting 3 yellow strikes converts them into a red strike.

✖︎ Red strike — a serious strike. It expires after 6 months. If you collect 3 red strikes you become ineligible for tournament play, and other applicable actions may follow.

You'll see a notice about your active strikes when you log in and when you sign up or check in to a tournament. If you'd like to discuss a strike, contact JJx7Fan at info@ecribbage.com.

Click Help Me! next to Goodies, pick Report a Bug, type what happened, and hit Send. The message goes straight to the team. Include browser/device info if you can — it speeds up debugging.

Help Me! → Report a Player. Include their username and a brief description of what happened (rude language, exploitative play, etc.). The team reviews every report.

Help Me! → Give a Suggestion. Tell us what you'd like to see — features, themes, tournaments, anything. Many of the recent additions came directly from player suggestions.

Click the red Logout button on the right side of the lounge action row. We'll ask you to confirm so you don't log out by accident.

The Cribbage Counter is a fun game to test how quickly you can count your hand. Play 10 rounds, trying to answer as fast and accurately as possible.

Cribbage Sudoku is a fun game that combines Cribbage with Sudoku. Fill in the white boxes with the card values shown under the board, creating the best cribbage hands (points) possible. The Starter Card at the top will be added to each horizontal and vertical hand.

The daily discard is a unique hand dealt on eCrib+ the day before. It is offered up to all the players to compare notes on how they would have discarded the hand.

No. This site is not owned or operated by the ACC. The ACC is a guest on this site who has been granted special permission to run ACC sanctioned tournaments at designated times. The ACC must follow all guidelines set forth by the owner of this site.

eCrib+ has nothing to do with tabulating a player’s IRPs. Any questions regarding IRPs earned should be directed to the ACC Statistician or the ACC Internet Commissioner.

The easiest and quickest way to get familiar with the site is to take a few minutes and go through the TUTORIAL. The TUTORIAL is the orange button located at the bottom of every Lounge.

Certain avatar items as well as boards, pegs and card backs are part of the Rewards system — you unlock them by playing games. Click Rewards in Goodies to preview every unlock and see how many games until the next one.

Note: You can also update your choices from the lounge by clicking GOODIES > GAME DECOR.

In partner games, the table is set after all players cut for deal.

In the Tournament Lounge all nicknames are removed. This is simply so people know who they should be playing — if you have 3 Bob’s in the room, which one are you supposed to be playing? Not everyone is familiar with everyone else’s nicknames.

The megaphone is a way for you to speak your lobby chat. This is good for players who type slow or have a lot of mistakes when typing.

Click on the masks and get a little of fun little memes you can add to your chat.

At the top of Progress and Big Scorecard you will see the words POP OUT. If you click on the words Pop Out you can resize and move it around your monitor or to another monitor.

Progress is a detailed list of how everyone is progressing through the tournament. A name in yellow means that player is currently playing that match, or they are waiting to start that match. Once a match is completed that player will receive a checkmark for a win, or an X for a loss.

Our deck uses the Fisher–Yates shuffle seeded by the browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) — the industry standard for unbiased shuffles, the same algorithm used by PokerStars, online casinos, state lotteries, and pretty much every serious computerized card or draw system. Every permutation of the 52 cards is equally likely; no pattern, no seed reuse, no thumb on the scale. Read more →

A “gut cut” is a cut card that counts +8 points or more on a 4-card hand (e.g. holding 2-2-4-4 and cutting a 3). All “gut cuts” are tracked by the site. You can view a comparison between any player and AI by going to GOODIES > TRACK GUT CUTS.

No. The AI has no knowledge beyond the information available to any player. It receives the same cards and makes decisions based solely on the current game state, with its skill coming from training on thousands of completed games.
